I feel like I'm pretty new to the painting game. So I've been working to feel out how I like to work. Luckily enough, I work with an amazing set of painters to learn from. Definitely check out their work: Yashar Kassai, Erin McGuire, Woohyun Nam.

Here are a couple of paintings I worked through. I pulled a good bit of the techniques of the artists around me. I got to a point where I felt like I was noodling though, so I put them aside for a week. Then when I finally picked them back up, I realized I needed to just move on. I feel I learned quite a bit during the process, especially to embrace the simplicity. In both paintings, I ended up liking my initial versions. Enjoy!

Space Kick

It's due time for a post, it's been far too long.
I've been on a space kick as of late. Science Fiction has always been a favorite genre of film and literature for me, and I'm rediscovering how much fun it is to draw. So here's some recent doodle-age. Hope ya likes. (I'll work on making this posting deal a more frequent occurrence.)

Wait...I have a blog?!?

Well...it's been quite an extensive period of time since I've posted. My excuse? I'll have to think of one later, but it'll surely involve bionic bears, kidnapping, fascinating human interest stories, and of course, pirates. So just an update on everything (besides the bear-napping pirate excursions), I've been working as the Library Curator at TurboSquid for the past four months. Teaching myself guitar (slowly but surely). Working on a couple personal projects, and attempting to conquer the world one drawing at a time. :)

Since it's been a while, here's a art drop. Just grabbed some work from the past 6 mo. Enjoy!

So had the last of my life drawing classes today. Sad to see it go, but so glad I took it. Came out of it with some great work, and much improved skillz. Anywho, still got my life drawing sessions on Thurs :) Here's a couple drawings from tonight.

New Work, New Blog

So I'm revamping the blog. I've been producing a lot of new work, so time for a new blog. This is really just for my own sake of making sure I'm working and posting new stuff.

I've been focusing on digital painting lately. Trying to get better and faster at it. Here's my first attempts. Environment/Vehicle/Animal stuff soon to come.
